 About The President and Founder

Bob Tyer, P.E. is the founder and president of AerResearch, Inc. Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering followed by his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1968. He gained experience both as a consulting engineer and as a manufacturer's representative before forming AerResearch, Inc. where he performs the duties of president.

A native Texan, Bob was born in 1944. He lives in the Houston area and is the father of two and grandfather of two. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and has been granted several patents. He shares his interest in environmental protection with several others including history, photography and fishing.

Bob also founded the predecessor company of AerResearch, Inc. in 1982. That company was Robert Tyer and Associates, Inc. (d.b.a. Aeration Research Company). The predecessor company's assets and liabilities were transferred to AerResearch, Inc. in 1995.

Among Bob's technical credits are the invention of a lagoon aerator which can be retrieved, replaced, adjusted and leveled individually while in operation. Another of Bob's inventions is a system for applying intermediate supports to tubular diffusers so that their length is unlimited and so that they can achieve floor coverage approaching one hundred percent. Bob lead AerResearch into becoming the first manufacturer of perforated EPDM diffuser membranes in the U.S.A. and the first to apply them to retrievable lagoon aerators. AerResearch membranes were introduced in 1987 at a time when all membranes sold in the U.S.A. were imported from Europe.
